When Michael and Maria found a dilapidated and neglected house in Koroni that had once been the splendid Venetian Villa of the village iconpainter, there the seeds of an idea were planted.
At first they thought only of a place for themselves to come for vacations, but the house was so unique and Koroni such a beautiful village that they decided that they could share its’ delights with others by sensitively converting the house into four comfortable modern studios for rent: “Greek and chic”. And that is how “The Iconpainter” concept began.
Michael and Maria created “The Iconpainter’s Apartments” and opened for business in 2004. In 2008 the Iconpainter’s Villas, where Michael & Maria live and work was added.
“Our guests told us how much they enjoyed staying at the Iconpainter’s Apartments and this inspired us to make a life changing decision. We left our jobs in the UK and moved to live permanently in Greece and provide our guests with the best vacation possible. We bought an abandoned olive grove near the fabulous Peroulia and Gargarou beaches and built four pretty and traditional villas and our own house within the grove. We grow most of our own produce and make our own olive oil, eating olives, wine and preserves, which are all available for our guests to sample and buy.”
