WHERE WE ARE
The Icon Painter’s Apartments and Villas are easily accessible yet in an area unspoilt by mass tourism. We are in the region of Messinia in the Peloponnese on the mainland of Greece and therefore easily accessible all year round.

Flights We are just 40 minutes drive from Kalamata airport which has charter flights between May and October. These go from the UK, Holland, Germany and Scandinavia. (See Links for details of airlines which fly to Kalamata). Flights are also available to Araxos airport near Patras. Flights are available from most countries to Athens all year round.
Ferries from Venice, Ancona, Bari and other Adriatic ports sail to Patras from where there are trains to Kalamata and there's a good road. (See Links for details of ferry companies sailing to Patras.)
Buses from Athens run almost hourly from 4.45am until 22.45 and takes around 3½ to 4 hours. There are regular local buses from Kalamata to Koroni via Harokopio. The journey takes around 1¼ hour by bus or a taxi takes 30–40 minutes.
By car the motorways from Athens airport via Corinth are first rate and continue all the way to Tripoli. The journey takes around 4 hours. The road from Patras is also excellent and takes around 3½ hours. All routes come through beautiful scenery and the roads are generally quiet.
Trains run from Patras to Kalamata and the journey takes about 3 hours. There are also trains from Athens Peloponnese Station to Patras which is one of the great train journeys of the world. There is a direct line from Athens to Kalamata through the heart of the Peloponese but this is currently being rebuilt.
