The Apartments

The Iconpainter’s Apartments are in a sleepy quarter of the picturesque village of Koroni. From the creatively and tastefully renovated Venetian style mansion forming the four apartments, everything is within walking distance.

Acquired by us in 2003,this Venetian type villa has been converted sympathetically to retain many traditional and original features but at the same time introducing modernity, style and luxury. Colour again plays an important role in expressing what the apartments are about. Whitewashed and with ‘Greek’ blue wooden shutters as the exterior and quirky little touches like some antique tiling insets on the terracotta floor tiles and marble kitchen sinks, each apartment is different in small but distinct ways. Each has a name and the interior decoration and colour tries to mirror the name.

Outside, in the courtyard where the two lower apartments are found, there is a little stone built fountain and pond, lots of greenery, herbs and flowers and private seating and tables for each of the two apartments. Very peaceful.

Upstairs, where the two upper apartments are to be found, there is a small balcony area where guests can sit and relax, breakfast and dine.

Inside again each apartment has the ‘Coco-Mat’ sleeping system on a double bed Mentioned earlier in our section on the villas, this is a great company making great beds and all that goes with them. Their web site is a must to check out. In short, the beds will give you a truly fantastic sleep. Made of all natural, organic materials of the highest quality, they are a by word for luxury.

So impressed were we by these beds that now all of our villas and apartments have them, with crisp top quality cotton sheets, Coco-Mat’ pillows (with a pillow menu of course!) and lovely bespoke fabrics and furnishings to compliment.

Given a face lift in 2014, our apartments have new kitchens with integrated oven and ceramic hob, fridge and (we hope!) all the equipment you will need to make your stay enjoyable.

Also new are our shower rooms with lovely bathroom fittings with clean lines. There you will also find organic toiletries, hairdryer, fluffy towels, beach towels, bathrobes and Coco-Mat slippers. Divine.

The upper apartments have a view over the magical harbour of Koroni and the mountains beyond. The lower apartments do not have the view but that view is only 5 minutes away!

All apartments have air conditioning and shared laundry and ironing facilities. There is a constant supply of hot water at all times.

Five minutes walk in one direction takes you to Zagka beach, in the other direction to the vibrant harbour front with its’ array of tavernas and shops.

Parking for the apartments is about 50m from the front gate. There is no through traffic either in front or behind the apartments, thus ensuring relative quiet.

Koroni itself  is said to be one of the most picturesque villages on mainland Greece. It lives up to that reputation.Sitting high above the bustle,the village is ‘crowned’  by the castle and Monastery. Both are worth exploring. The tavernas are excellent and well priced and because there is a small fishing fleet (3 fishermen!) you really can eat fish caught on the same day.

From Koroni guests can journey to many other beautiful and unspoilt beaches such as Peroulia, Kalamaki, Tsapi to name a few. Remember however that the magnificent Zagka beach is home to the Logga turtle because it is so clean and peaceful ---all 3 km of it!.
